What’s your inspiration?
I want to THANK everyone who came to the last Garden Design Workshop Series! We had some very interesting projects to discuss, and I hope that those who attended found the process to be useful. Information on the last workshop is below, I will be putting together another one for Summer 2010, so please let me know if you are interested!!
“Garden Design: Ideas, Inspirations, Information”
We will discuss site design, budgets and phasing, use of color and texture, planting design, the pros and cons of different materials, sustainability, increasing property value, and managing maintenance.
We will review garden images and work through some quick exercises to develop a design program for your project. As the meetings progress, we’ll discuss any site specific issues that apply to that meeting’s participants’ sites and concerns (at time of registration, please note any special concerns / interests so I can be sure to bring appropriate reference materials!).
Materials
Please bring: photos of your project site and any images that you’ve collected for inspiration (including images you particularly disliked). If you have a site plan or some measurements of your site (good for you!), please bring that along as well.
We’ll provide: Pencils, handouts, and scratch paper.
When: The Spring 2010 workshop is now over, please stay tuned for the next one. They are typically 3 or 4 sessions of 2-3 hours each time.
Where: Julie’s Coffee and Tea Garden between San Antonio Ave. and San Jose Ave. The meeting room is up the stairs at the back of the building.

What people have said:
“I would really like to do this again with you. What you have to offer is great!! I hope I can come to the next one!!!! Please keep me posted.”

“I am definitely interested in taking your seminar again. It feels that I’m on the cusp of my own design, vs. a randomly assembled yard that evolves over time, which would not be terrible. But given the choice, I’d prefer something more refined. Your class is the perfect opportunity for me to guide my ideas.”

“Thank you for all the time you spent with me. I took a long walk today and was really looking at people’s gardens. Hopefully I will be able to accomplish some good things in my own yard!”
